Installation in Växjö’s new municipal building

Public installation in the dining hall of Växjö’s new municipal building. The piece is an abstraction of Växjö’s lakes and cycling paths. My goal was to create an installation that everyone working in the building could relate to, while highlighting the surrounding nature, which has a strong connection to Växjö’s history.

By working with the map of Växjö, I created a piece where all the elements float in the ceiling, emphasizing the architecture of the room while bringing life and movement to the ceiling’s airspace. At the same time, the work invites those who work in the municipal building to form their own personal connections to the art.
