WAVES (2025)

LED lighting, bendable plywood, birch plywood, lacquer, metal fittings
Public art commission, Tröingeskolan, Falkenberg, Sweden
In this project, I chose to work with forms that both bring life to the space and contribute to a calmer acoustic environment. Inspired by the existing features of the room, I worked with the natural texture and color of the wood to highlight the wooden details in the architecture. In doing so, I aimed to create a cohesive and engaging environment for the students and staff of the school.
The theme of the work emerged from my inspiration drawn both from the sea in Falkenberg and from a desire to convey something meaningful to the students. I created a playful movement that breaks free from the wall and stretches through the room toward the auditorium windows. This movement symbolizes how teachers provide us with a foundation of knowledge, which we can then use to create waves out in the world.
Pictures from installation week, more documentation to come.
