SPACIOUS (2023)
LED fixtures, perforated metal sheets
Public installation on the façade of Tenö Preschool in Farsta, Stockholm

In this project, I was invited to create a work that incorporated perforated metal sheets as a key element of the artwork. I chose to integrate LED fixtures around some of the illustrated panels I designed. Including light felt important to me, as I was thinking about the darker times of the year when children walk to preschool, allowing the lights to brighten the start of their day.

My main focus was to create a piece that reflects the purpose of the place and influences the public environment by letting the children’s imagination and playfulness leave their mark on the area. The theme I chose ranged from snack time to emojis, with a connection to outer space, symbolizing that in space, anything is possible, and there is room for everyone.
